Jordanian Students Shine at the 2025 Supply Chain Hackathon

Amman, Jordan – May 4, 2025 – The German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with MUHAKAT, hosted the 2025 Supply Chain Hackathon on Saturday, May 3, 2025. The event brought together 16 student teams from various 12 Jordanian universities, aiming to enhance practical skills in supply chain management and bridge academic learning with real-world applications.

The event was attended by GJU President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, Vice President for Academic Excellence Prof. Eyas Khder, and MUHAKAT’s Executive Director Mr. Samer Al Madhoun. Prof. Al-Halhouli expressed pride in Jordanian youth and emphasized the importance of partnerships with the private sector, stating that such competitions contribute to refining students’ skills and expanding their practical horizons.

In Turn, Mr. Samer Al Madhoun, Executive Director of MUHAKAT, thanked GJU for hosting the event and stressed the importance of linking theoretical education with practical application. He noted that the hackathon provides a realistic environment for students to experience supply chain challenges and make strategic decisions based on real data.

During the competition, student teams managed the supply chain of a virtual company, making strategic decisions in procurement, production, and distribution based on realistic data and scenarios. The Hashemite University team secured first place and will have the opportunity to represent Jordan in the international phase of the competition, which will be held virtually with participation from universities worldwide.

This hackathon is part of MUHAKAT’s initiatives aimed at developing students’ practical skills and preparing them for the labour market in supply chain and logistics fields through professional and applied education. The goal is to supply the Jordanian and Arab markets with qualified competencies capable of dealing with global changes.
